Welcome to the beginning stages of Change for Art website! Come back soon to see updates!
Change for Art Mission/Vision Statement

Just ask Frida Kahlo! Ask any artist! Ask yourself!

Art is expressive! Art is Creative! Art is Therapeutic!

Thru the “Change for Art” fundraising campaign, a little change,
per person contributing, “can” go a long way!

The goal, Desire, Vision of the "Change for Art" program is to provide each child in Taos County the opportunity to express, explore, create & sooooo much more ---- by having assorted art supplies at their (expressive) disposal, in each child's school (as well as child-related organizations such as CAV Shelter, Casa de Corazon, Terra Nova, etc.) in Taos County, for the full school year!
“Can’t! ” (you say). That’s Impossible! (you say)…Well, these words don’t resonate in the Realm of Dreams & Visions!

The concept of “Change for Art” is lovingly taken from a practice of the late Dan Eldon, an artist himself, who, upon friends entering thru his door, asked them to empty their pockets of “change” & deposit it into a “can” next to his door – of which he donated all he received to charities!
Change adds up & it “can” make a difference.Let us love and nurture our children in Taos County. Support the “Change for Art” Program!
Express your love and encouragement for our children and youth by donating – so they can express themselves – thru ART!
P.S. Donation of actual art supplies also welcome and accepted.

Thank you

Gracias

Change for Art for Kids & Viva Frida Festival

July 13th 2004 marks the 50th anniversary of the death of the famous Mexican artist
Frida Kahlo

July 10 thru July 18, 2004 is the “Viva Frida Festival” in Taos New Mexico, celebrating the essence and inspiration of Frida Kahlo. Frida and her exquisite artwork produced epitomizes true art therapy and expression of oneself.

The “Change for Art for Kids” local, community-based program, in providing art supplies for Taos County children and youth, enables them to express themselves in their chosen arts, which can be fulfilling and therapeutic, as well.

The concept of “Change for Art for Kids” was inspired by a practice of the late Dan Eldon, the youngest Reuters News photographer, killed in Somalia on July 12, 1993 (11 years ago) (click onto Dan Eldon for further information/insight into him, his artwork and his charitable activities).

Celebrating Frida Kahlo, during “Viva Frida” is also a wonderful opportunity to celebrate our children and youth in Taos County, an art community, a loving & caring community. Assorted scheduled events during “Viva Frida” will be benefiting “Change for Art for Kids” in Taos County. Please scroll thru this website for event listings and details. Thank you for supporting “Change for Art for Kids” !!!
